Loving God's Word

Memorizing.Scripture+Blog.jpeg-2.webp

"Receive instruction from his mouth, and lay up his words in your heart."
- Job 22:22

To be a disciple of Jesus means to be a student of Jesus, one who learns from Jesus and receives His instruction. A good student doesn't merely hear Christ's teachings, but remembers them, meditates upon them, and does them. In addition to reading God's word, we also need to lay it up in our hearts. As we do this we experience the many benefits of Scripture memorization: not only the conscious blessing of recalling God's word, but also the subconscious blessing of having His word in our hearts, operating deep within us, shaping us to live reflexively by the word of God. So come, join us on our journey of memorizing Scripture this year and see how God's word will transform our lives for our good and His glory.
